CODINGTON COUNTY - 2 CHRONICLES

66 Books of the Bible Release to 66 Counties of South Dakota

Our 14th county to pray for in South Dakota is Codington County, with the city of Watertown being the county seat.  We release the book of 2 Chronicles to Codington County.  The book of 2 Chronicles begins with King Solomon's reign and the building of the temple.  One of the high points in Solomon's life was the dedication of the Temple. "The Glory of the Lord so filled the house . . .that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud, for the Glory of the Lord had filled the house of God" (2 Chronicles 5:14). The Tabernacle and the Temple were the center of Israel's identity as a nation.  After the Temple was destroyed and later rebuilt, the prophet/priest Ezra wrote this book to encourage people to accept the new Temple and to remind them of their true calling and God's faithfulness through it all.   Also, the Temple is a type of Christ Himself (Mat 12:6, John 2:19, Rev 21:22).
Father in the mighty name of Jesus, we pray and release 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people who called by name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."  Father we pray that your people in Codington County in humility, will pray and seek you, and repent of anything not pleasing to you.  And then Father your promise is that you will hear those prayers and heal the land. We call forth the intercessors, watchman, and gatekeepers of this county to rise up in this hour to intercede for the people and this land of Codington County that they will be healed and blessed.

Father we pray through the Blood and the Light of your Son Jesus, that Your same Glory as in Solomon's temple, and Acts 2 on Pentecost, be made known to your people and land of Codington County.  And as apostle Paul wrote in 1 Cor. 3:16, "Know ye not that you are the temple of God, that the Spirit of God dwells in you?"  We release the Glory of the Lord to shine brightly in the people of Codington County!

Even as King Jehoshaphat and the people prayed and declared in chapter 20, verse 21 while going into battle, "Praise the Lord, For HIS mercy endures Forever."  Let this be our declaration, let this be our praise to You, oh God, from Codington County!
