DOUGLAS COUNTY - ECCLESIASTES

66 Books of the Bible Release to 66 Counties of South Dakota

Our 21st county to pray for in South Dakota is Douglas County, with the city of Armour being the county seat.  We release the book of Ecclesiastes to Douglas County.  Like Proverbs, Ecclesiastes is a book of wisdom.  Ecclesiastes records Solomon's reasonings under the sun while he was in a backslidden condition.  It ends up, however, with his reasonings under the Son.  Contrasting the emptiness of life - even a life filled with wealth and glory - apart from God, this poetic book serves to remind all of us that no truly successful man is a "self-made man," but that all good things come from God (Ecclesiastes 2:24).  This book shows clearly the emptiness and perplexity of life without a relationship with Jesus Christ for only He can provide ultimate satisfaction, joy, and wisdom.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, tells us the conclusion of the matter, ". . . Fear God, and keep His commandments . . . " and only through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ can we keep those commandments.  It would be the Shepherd's voice and words that would hold Solomon in the time of need (Ecc. 12:11).

Father in the name of your Son Jesus, we release the book of wisdom of Ecclesiastes over Douglas County.  Father, we release the wisdom under the Son, of Jesus Christ, and not under the sun of the ways of the world over Douglas County.  In chapter 3, verse 1, you tell us, "To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven."  Father, cause your people in Douglas County to know the season of time they are now living and to know their redemptive destiny in You and their purpose for Your Kingdom.  We pray that Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven all across Douglas County.  As the people of Douglas County find their true identity and destiny in your Son Jesus, cause the people to walk in the wisdom of their good shepherd and king.  Let the voice of Wisdom, cry out across the land of Douglas County.
