HAMLIN COUNTY - HOSEA

66 Books of the Bible Release to 66 Counties of South Dakota

Our 28th county to pray for in South Dakota is Hamlin County, with the city of Hayti being the county seat.  We release the book of Hosea to Hamlin County. The prophet Hosea, whose name means "Salvation" or "Deliverance," was chosen by God to live out his message to his people by marrying a woman named Gomer who would be unfaithful to him. Hosea finds his domestic life to be an accurate and tragic dramatization of the unfaithfulness of God's people. The theme of God's love is portrayed throughout this book as God tries every means to bring His people back to Himself in a call to repentance (Hosea 6:1-3).

In Hosea's relationship with his unfaithful wife, he portrays God's faithfulness, justice, love, and forgiveness toward His people.  Christ' identification with our plight and His loving work of redemption can be seen in Hosea's redemption of Gomer from the slave market.  God's foremost desire is seen in Hosea 2:16, ". . . "That you will call Me, my husband. And no longer call Me, my master."

One of the prayers we have been praying and declaring across South Dakota in each county seat of every county in this prayer initiative is the Certificate of Marriage.  This is a prayer written by Dr. Jerry Mash of Heartland Apostolic Prayer Network which is based out of the book of Hosea.   I have attached that prayer for 1) your personal prayer and 2) to intercede for your county and state and also for our nation.  This prayer is to be prayed after true repentance of any idolatry in our lives has been confessed.  And then with this prayer we remarry ourselves back to the Lord making Him 1st in every area of our life.

Father in the name of Jesus, we thank you for Hamlin County, that you have chosen this county to reveal Your unconditional love.  We release the book of Hosea across the land and people of Hamlin County and that the spirit of repentance would move upon them, and in total surrender, would remarry themselves to You.  As they declare: "We acknowledge you alone." (Hosea 2:20) "You are my God." (Hosea 2:23)  It is to you alone that we will be faithful.  We will know no other.  "We acknowledge you alone as our provider (Hosea 2:8) and will at all times look to you."  Let the voice of the people of Hamlin County stand in true repentance also for this nation, these United States of America to "come back to her 1st love." That this land and people would turn from all idolatry and remarry back to You God, in Jesus name!
