Our 33rd county
to pray for in South Dakota is Hutchinson County, with the city of
Olivet being the county seat. We release the book of Micah to Hutchinson
County. Micah means "like Jehovah." Micah has been termed
the "prophet of the poor," as he ministered to poor people.
Micah warned of God's judgment upon sin and offered hope by speaking of God's
deliverer (Jesus) to come and restore His people. The prophecy of
shepherd-king, the divine deliverer is shown in Micah 2:12-13 as "one
who breaks open" and leads the way. And the mountain of the Lord's
house can be see in Micah 4:1-2
as the Kingdom of God rules and reigns teaching us His ways.
The prophecy in Micah 5:2 about the birthplace and the eternity of the Messiah was predicted 700 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. This is one of the clearest and most important Old Testament prophecies as quoted in Matthew 2:6.
A key theme verse is Micah 6:8, "He has shown thee, O man, what is good, and what the Lord requires of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God."
Father we thank you in the name of Jesus, that a fresh revelation of the Messiah Shepherd - King is being made known across Hutchinson County. And as Your people walk in a humble and obedient relationship with You, justice, mercy, and compassion will flow out of them as in Micah 6:8. Thank you Father, the good fruit of your love and mercy is being seen and made known in the people and land of Hutchinson County. We release the Mountain of the Lord's house that is being established for Your Kingdom in Hutchinson County.
