Our 9th County to
pray for in South Dakota is Butte County, with the city of Bel Fourche
being the county seat. We release the book of 1 Samuel to Butte
County. In 1 Samuel, the person of Jesus is revealed both in Samuel
as prophet, priest, and judge, and in David as shepherd and king. Samuel
and Jesus are both described in the same terms during their childhood.
"And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favor both with the Lord, and
also with men" (1 Samuel 2:10). "And Jesus increased in wisdom and
stature, and in favor with God and man" (Luke 2:52). Samuel,
the trusted prophet, was sent to guide a government by judges and later
kings. Samuel also established a school of prophets who were the
mouthpiece of God to kings and nations. For 500 years they were the
orators, the poets, the historians, and the reformers of both the northern and
southern kingdoms of Israel.
Later in the book David the man after God's own heart becomes King (1 Samuel13:14). And as we know, it was from the lineage of David that the Messiah came.
Father, we release in the mighty name of Jesus, the Davids and the Samuels to arise and take their rightful place in leadership for your Kingdom in Butte County. That your prophetic voice once again would be heard across this land and then obeyed according to your Word. We pray that the spirit of prophecy, the very testimony of Jesus, would resound through the people and land in Butte County.
